SUMMÀRY:
The more high levels and annual increasing of population thyroid cancer incidence we deter-mined in industrial and agricultural regions in Ukraine previously.
This suggested the influence of together with acknowledged factors (iodine deficiency, ionizing radiation) other anthropogenic chemicals including carcinogenic metals (chrome, nickel, cadmium, lead).
The aim of work was to clarify the possible mechanisms of carcinogens influencing on thyroid cancer formation.
The results of the performed analysis allowed to suppose that metals under chronical com-bined enter on the organism can produce multiple diversity effects leading to the decreasing of thy-roid hormons levels, stimulating thyrocyte proliferation, development hyperplasia of thyroid gland and goiter. Besides, metals can induce direct and indirect (oxidative) DNA damages and epigenetics changes in thyroid cells, that results to genetic instability and mutations appearance. Persistent induc-tion of indicated changes and simultaneous availability of caused by carcinogen immune system disturbance may be help increasing risk and hastening of the population thyroid cancer development.
