The article presents the results of HRV parameters study of primary school pupils - an objec-tive measure of their functional state. The purpose of the research: to study the primary school pupils functional state in the traditional physical education lessons and swimming lessons dynamics.
Materials and methods. 82 pupils (I-II health groups) from three Kiev primary schools were involved in the study. Children of experimental contingent (E contingent, 38 pupils, the average age 8,16±0,20 y.) attended two schools with swimming pools, they visited 1 mandatory swimming lessons and 2 traditional physical education classes per week. Pupils from control contingent (K contingent, 44 pupils, average age 8,79±0,12 y.) didn’t attend swimming lessons, three times a week visited gym classes and out of school time did not visit the pool. Using the diagnostic complex FAZAGRAF® with a miniature microprocessor sensor of I standard lead with finger electrodes recorded the temporal and spectral characteristics of pupil’s HRV and studied indicator of symmetry of the T wave (pa-rameter βT).
Results. It was found that there isn’t difference between functional state of students K and E contingents before the physical education and swimming classes. In the same time, among students from K contingent dominated the sympathetic vegetative tone (LF/HF>1, βT>0,72), and E contingent students are in a state of autonomic balance and satisfactory adaptation (LF/HF in the range 0.5-1, βT<0,72). The intensity of physical activity during physical education and swimming classes was low. The positive impact of swimming lesson on the functional state of elementary school students was founded. In the dynamics of swimming lesson temporal and spectral indices before and after exercise does not differ (p>0,05). During the traditional gym classes in E contingent sympathetic tone influence has grow without a significant reduction of the parasympathetic. At the same time, K contingent pupil’s reaction on the physical education lesson is characterized by a shift of autonomic balance to increase in sympathetic tone and attenuation of parasympathetic effects that, along with a high sym-metry of the T wave indicates a significant strain of adaptive mechanisms.
