SUMMÀRY:
Objective. To conduct a comparative assessment of the physical development of children aged 15-16 who were exposed to military aggression with the data of dynamic observations in the pre-war period.
Materials and methods. Scientometric, hygienic, anthropometric, sociological, mathematical and statistical methods were used.
Results. A comparison of physical development indicators of adolescents aged 15-16 years at the present stage in terms of sex and age was carried out, and in comparison, with the pre-war period. Body mass indices and Rohrer index were calculated. An assessment of the timing of puberty in girls was given.
Conclusions. The presence of signs of "sexual dimorphism" in length and body weight among adolescents aged 15-16 years who were exposed to the influence of military aggression against Ukraine was established, which corresponds to the general biological regularity of physical development of children. It was found that among girls of prepubertal age at the beginning of military aggression, an increase in the time of onset of menarche (13.3±0.01, p≤0.01) years was subsequently observed, in contrast to the pre-war period. A feature of changes in the length and body weight of girls who were 12,5–13 years old on the date of the Russian invasion of Ukraine was previously established, namely a tendency to decrease in length and body weight in the third year of the war. Among children who were 14 years old and older on the date of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, no tendency to delay growth processes was detected.
