The article analyzes the state of security of the child population of Ukrainian secondary educa-tional institutions over the last 5 years. Found that from 2010 to 2015, the number of schools in the country has decreased by 14,6%, urban – 16% rural – 10%, in Kiev is 8%, ceased functioning and 1,4%. The number of students in grades 1-4 increased by 6%, first grade – 18%. The occupancy rate of Kiev schools exceeds the design capacity by 12%. In 90% of schools do not have all the relevant internal and external functional areas. According to the results of sanitary-epidemiological assess-ment 10 projects of construction of new schools the main shortcomings of their design and proposals for their elimination.
