SUMMÀRY:
It has been shown that Kherson drinking water is characterized by excess salt content of total hardness, dry residue, chlorides and sulfates. A retrospective epidemiological surveillance revealed the effect of highly mineralized drinking water long-term consumption at digestive diseases in Kher-son`s adults, in contrast to Chernihiv, where the population uses drinking water that meets regulatory requirements. There is established a statistically significant positive correlation of mineralized drink-ing water with gastritis and gastric ulcer, and negative with diseases of the gallbladder and biliary tract. Possible increasing in the digestive diseases incidence in the use of drinking water with sub-standard mineral composition is shown. It is proposed to make greater use of household and collec-tive water purifiers for the drinking water demineralization in the place of consumption.
