SUMMÀRY:
The article deals with research of content of naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) in the residues of industrial activity of the Ukrainian iron ore enterprises.
Measurements of the NORM content in 43 samples of residues of industrial activity from 2 enterprises (6 mines) were made. The study was made using gamma-ray spectrometry. It was de-termined activity concentration of 226Ra, 232Th, 40K, 210Pb, 238U, 235U.
It was specified that the maximum activity concentration of NORM in the 238U decay chain in residues is less in 10 times than the level for clearance for the both enterprises. The values of the maximum activity concentration of 40K in the residues are less than the level for clearance for enterprise ¹1 in 500 times and for the enterprise ¹2 in 20 times.
The activity residues of the both iron-mining enterprises may be cleared without further con-sideration concerning radiation factor.
