SUMMÀRY:
Introduction. Reconstruction of thermal power (TPP) unit ¹4 in Starobeshevo through in-troduction of innovative technologies for burning low-grade coal, anthracite sludge in boilers with circulating fluidized bed (CFB) has allowed to reach high technical-economic and ecological results. However, issues of hygienic assessment of noise levels (NL) of the machinery, equipment and mecha-nisms (machines) in preparation and combustion of the fuel mixture under this technology, which may differ from the passport data in actual use do not presented in the scientific literature in full ex-tent.
The purpose of the study. To give a hygienic assessment of the noise characteristics of ma-chines and auxiliary equipment of boiler ACFB-670 of the reconstructed power unit ¹4 at Starobeshevo TPP.
Materials and methods. As noise characteristics of machines there have been determined sound power levels and sound pressure levels (LP, L³) in dB noise level (LPA, dB) as well as sound lev-els (LA, dB) at the control points with inclusion of the characteristics of workplaces. 2296 individual measurements there have been made in total. NC has been determined for 15 cars and 5 workplaces.
Results. It is found that the most unfavorable are noise characteristics for machines of the combustion system CFB-boiler. The exceeding of (ΔL³) threshold limits for NC (TLNL) on the fans of the primary and secondary air reaches the dangerous level 37 dB at 250 Hz and sound level (ΔLA) - 36 dBA. Differences between actual NL from the passport data in the direction of TLNL for these machines have made 28 dB and 13 dB, respectively. NC of blowers, providing the circulation of the "boiling" fuel layer in the boiler by 35-38 dB, were higher than TLNL with maximum values of sound energy at frequencies of 1-2 kHz, and the excess of the sound level was 35 dBA. Sound pressure lev-els of blowers significantly (20-26 dBA) exceeded NC, declared in the passport on the machine.
Conclusions. In work areas for maintenance and operation of auxiliary equipment of boiler ACFB-670 there are production sites (fans of primary and secondary air, air of the "boiling" layer), causing acute damage of the organ of hearing in employees. The personnel, monitoring the operation of these machines, should be equipped with personal hearing protectors with the efficiency of noise reduction for at least 35 dB in the frequency range of 125-4000 Hz and with limitation of time for staying in noisy dangerous zone from 1:00 to 5 minutes, depending on noise levels.
